Choosing your shampoo

A good hair routine always begins with shampoo. Hence the importance of choosing it well and adapting it to your basic needs of the moment.

How to identify a shampoo that is not right for you? It will leave your hair either greasy or too dry, as if stripped. Conversely, a shampoo adapted to your hair type will bring you softness and shine, without disturbing the delicate balance of your scalp.

Don't forget to treat yourself with pleasant formulas. Textures, colors and fragrances play a key role in the user experience. That's why, in addition to offering you "clean" shampoos, without potentially controversial ingredients, we try as much as possible to surprise you with sensory nuggets that you won't be able to do without!

#1 I choose my shampoo according to its galenic

When we talk about shampoo, we almost always think of liquid shampoo. It's the best known of all! Practical and easy to use, it's a unanimous choice in the bathroom. If you're careful about your waste, you should know that many of those on our e-shop are offered in recyclable or refillable containers (like Cut by Fred liquid shampoos ).

You can also opt for solid shampoos. Previously criticized for their surfactants that are a little more stripping than most liquid shampoos, they have the advantage of being richer in butters and vegetable oils – which effectively protect the lengths from dryness.

Little tip: if you opt for a shampoo-soap (like those from Savon Stories ), always finish with a vinegar water rinse. In other cases, it is useless.

I want a liquid shampoo

Formulated without sulfates and enriched with natural prebiotic fibers, it gently cleanses the hair and preserves the balance of the scalp for optimal comfort.

Ideal for: all hair types and scalp types.

The +: its refined and elegant signature fragrance.

I want an exfoliating shampoo

Formulated with Camargue salt crystals and peppermint hydrosol, it purifies the scalp and stimulates microcirculation at the roots while minimizing the risk of aggression.

Ideal for: devitalized scalps.

The +: its rich and sensory texture foams abundantly.

I want a dry shampoo

Perfect for refreshing hair between shampoos, it absorbs excess sebum and odors while boosting volume, without leaving white residue.

Ideal for: hair that gets greasy quickly.

The +: its blend of essential oils leaves a feeling of invigorating freshness.

#2 I choose my shampoo according to my hair type

This is one of the most important criteria to consider when choosing a shampoo. More than the nature of your lengths, it is the profile of your scalp that matters (since the shampoo is applied primarily to the roots).

It can also happen that there are typology differences between the roots and the ends, especially on long or curly hair. For example, maybe you have an oily scalp, but dry and damaged lengths. In this case, the ideal is to apply your shampoo only to your scalp and just let the foam run down the lengths (without rubbing).

Try to keep your washing frequency to 1 to 2 times a week. If your scalp feels very dry even after shampooing or, conversely, if it becomes greasy almost immediately afterwards, this is a sign that you should change your shampoo. This is often a problem with surfactants: the mildest (non-ionic) ones are not always effective enough for certain hair types, while the most detergent and foaming (anionic) ones are not necessarily suitable for delicate scalps. Sometimes you have to try to find the right balance!

I have oily hair

This shampoo restores lightness to hair weighed down by excess sebum. It is composed of a combination of astringent essential oils and absorbent rhassoul.

Ideal for: oily hair lacking vitality and volume.

The +: handmade and cold saponified.

I have dry hair

Sulfate-free and enriched with vegetable oils (evening primrose, jojoba, avocado), it softens and revitalizes the lengths without weighing them down. Its intensive formula hydrates the hair right down to the tips.

Ideal for: brittle, split ends and damaged hair.

The +: its boost of hyaluronic acid and rice proteins provides shine and softness.

I have fine hair

Thanks to its mix of balancing, purifying and soothing active ingredients, it promotes a feeling of lightness and volume at the roots. It produces a creamy foam with menthol and gourmet notes.

Ideal for: fine, flat hair with a tendency to be oily.

The +: it is suitable for pregnant women and children from 3 years old.

I have curly hair

Inspired by the co-wash technique, this non-foaming cleansing cream, exceptionally rich in fatty acids, gently cleanses without drying out the lengths.

Ideal for: textured hair types such as curly, frizzy and kinky.

The +: its captivating fragrance with notes of honey, bergamot, vanilla and patchouli.

I have a sensitive scalp

The “hypoallergenic” formula of this shampoo contains no essential oils, no perfume, no gluten, no lactose, no soy to suit the greatest number of people.

Ideal for: reactive scalps with atopic and allergic tendencies.

The +: a refined formula, but optimal effectiveness on the beauty of the hair.

I have dandruff

Its 2-in-1 formula (shampoo & conditioner) soothes feelings of irritation and makes the lengths shine thanks to a hydrating duo of amino acids and vitamin B5.

Ideal for: dry, delicate and uncomfortable scalps.

The +: its formula contains + 70% organic ingredients.

#3 I choose my shampoo according to my hair desires

Far from the rudimentary mixture of water-surfactants-thickeners-additives that it was at the beginning, shampoo is now enriched with active care ingredients and therefore with complementary properties. It is the first step in your hair routine, the one that lays the foundations – and the right ones, while we're at it!

Take the opportunity to target your hair concerns without waiting for the conditioner or mask step. Shine, growth, softness, volume: you're sure to find what you're looking for.

Be careful with certain growth or volume booster shampoos: some of them are only designed for occasional use, for example every other wash. Remember to check our usage instructions on the description sheets of our shampoos.

I dream of brilliance

Enriched with baobab proteins, this shampoo boosts hair shine and smoothes frizz without a stripping effect thanks to its washing base derived from sugar and coconut.

The +: its sugar grains and coffee grounds act as an exfoliator.

I dream of length

This wild plant shampoo contains nettle extract, known for strengthening hair and promoting growth. Its gentle formula respects the scalp and lengths.

Ideal for: all hair types.

The +: it contains 100% ingredients of natural origin.
