New Year: 3 (really) easy-to-keep beauty resolutions

Do you (almost) never manage to keep your New Year's resolutions? Neither do we. So, we thought that maybe it was because there was a problem. That deep down, we didn't want to keep them - not because we were lazy or didn't have the will to do so, but rather because they didn't necessarily correspond to what we really aspire to. So we tried to get back to basics, with just a handful of resolutions for 2025, to be seen more as self-care guides than as social injunctions. If there were only three to remember, these would probably be them.

This year, I'm taking care of my sleep

Sleep, the guarantor of our health… and our beauty. Essential to maintaining the precise balance of our body, a good night's sleep could also enhance our natural power of seduction. A 2010 study1 also proved that individuals who lacked sleep (both men and women) were judged less attractive by their peers. However, in 2022, 1 in 3 Swiss people suffer from sleep disorders, a figure that has been increasing since 2000…

The reflexes to adopt (crescendo order of motivation 😊)

    1. Start a cyberdetox: turn off your screens at least 1 hour before going to bed. This is to limit your exposure to noise and light, but also to avoid overstimulating your neurons! Priority to your sleep, you will read our articles the next day, with a rested head. 😉

    2. Practice positive thinking: Negative thoughts prevent you from reaching the state of mental calm necessary for a peaceful sleep… in addition to prematurely marking your face (sagging). Read optimistic mantras and practice autosuggestion.

    3. Try sophrology: alone, with tutorials, an application or accompanied by a professional. There are several exercises to relax you before falling asleep and slow down your heart rate, such as abdominal breathing and visualization.

Cortisol, the stress hormone, could also fuel blemish flare-ups or even atopy (eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, to name a few).

    1. Focus on adaptogens: these are substances (often plants or mushrooms) that are supposed to help our body cope with stress and maintain its homeostasis. You will find them in certain food supplements (maca, reishi, etc.).

    2. Turn to aromatherapy: Some plants have long been known for their benefits on nervous tension, such as lemon balm. Depending on the species chosen, they can diffuse their benefits in several ways, including in herbal tea or perfume.

    3. Do more sports: the goal is to stimulate the secretion of endorphins, dopamine or adrenaline – all hormones that help relieve feelings of stress. Favor outdoor sports (even more beneficial!) and don't set yourself a goal. 😉

    1. Treat yourself to at least one personal pleasure a day: even a small one, but don't deviate from it! Take a hot bath, buy yourself a bouquet of flowers, meditate by a candle, paint if you're creative... And of course, vary your pleasures.

    2. Cultivate your gratitude: we appreciate small moments of pleasure more when we are able to recognize them and savor them fully. This approach to self-satisfaction can simply be done by keeping a gratitude journal to fill out over the days.

    3. Pamper your sex life: Discovering new sensations and sources of sensuality is yet another way to update your own definition of happiness and ecstasy. So, go ahead: gradually try new experiences, test them out and have fun.
